Terrace,Mumbai |
Project Area : 14000 sq ft
This sea facing South Bombay terrace is designed as a meditative sanctuary in the midst of the bustling cityscape.
The terrace takes inspiration from the archetypal Balinese garden, replete with a rich tropical planting palette, moss laden décor elements, a garden pagoda shaded bar, and Buddha statues that bestow users of the space with a sense of humility and calm.
Four mature, ever-charming Frangipanis have been transplanted by the pool, lending shade and a sense of verticality to the sprawling space.
Subscribing to biophilic design principles, nature is welcomed into the immediate living environment, which seems vital in a city with a dearth of open green spaces.
The site exemplifies the kind of healing environments that could be created in the urban fabric to help people reconnect with the elements, and cope with the stress of city life.
